Light bulbs and fuses have recently disappeared from the mandatory equipment

The first-aid kit and its validity have also been simplified

Some cars may no longer have a reserve

Reflective vest and warning triangle remain

In the autumn of last year, the Ministry of Transport has made regulations on mandatory car equipment to better reflect modern times. As of October 1, 2018, you no longer need to carry a replacement bulb set. Likewise, the set of fuses disappears from the mandatory equipment. A responsible driver can, of course, drive at least the basic bulbs and fuses. He just will not get a fine for not having a car.

There has also been a change in the first-aid kit. A new first aid kit without a mask or patch with a pillow is enough. And it will no longer be necessary to change it due to expiration. So if you have an older model, it’s okay. Therefore, only the first-aid kit used must be changed.

In a brief infographic, the Ministry of Transport explained what would become compulsory from 1 October 2018:

The amendment to the Decree on Technical Approval and Technical Conditions for the Operation of Vehicles on the Road (№341/2014 Coll.) Simplifies and specifies also the obligation to carry in the car a spare wheel and the equipment necessary for its replacement, such as a hand jack.

“Spare tire vehicles do not have tire vehicles that allow them to travel while indicating a defect. Vehicles may also have spare parts for the non-dismantling of the damaged tire. The third exception is the vehicles that have a secured assistance service that ensures the replacement or repair of the damaged tire continuously throughout the Czech Republic, “the Ministry of Transport said.

In the mandatory equipment, only a reflective vest and a warning triangle remain unchanged. Of course, you still have to carry the first-aid kit, just change its mandatory composition, and the conditions for its validity have been modified. A spare run or full wheel (and wheel and jack key) must continue to be carried by all those who do not have assistance in case of a defect or have a vehicle with no run-flat tires. Likewise, it is true that even if you have assistance, you can make a reserve of course. Whether everyone wonders if he wants to wait for a towing or he can replace the bike in ten minutes.
